Top floor apartments and second stories are often warmer than the ground floor because warm air rises, and, because it’s likely to get more sun exposure. This means that you’d typically need an air conditioner with a higher number of BTUs.

HVAC Technician

BT Commercial Ltd, leaders in the air-conditioning, Heating and Ventilation and Photo Voltaic sector is recruiting HVAC Technician on a full-time basis. The company is experiencing growth and BT Commercial is looking for suitable candidates to form part of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
  • Understands basic Air-conditioning cycle to include: identifying components in Air-conditioning circuit, understanding how each component works in the Air-conditioning circuit, using manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart. Understands Air conditioning recovery, evacuation and charging.
  • Responsible for the daily preparation of the parts and tools for each day’s activities.
  • Complete work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day.
  • Performing repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of F-GAS
  • Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Complying with service standards, company instructions and customers’ requirements.
  • Assisting with customers’ queries.

Requirements

  • HVAC Diploma and/or other relevant certifications
  • 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
  • F-Gas Certificate
  • Wireman license A & B would be considered an asset;
  • Fluent preferable in English and Maltese, both written and verbal
  • Good hygiene and cleanliness is required at all times
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and make office aware of maintenance issues
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours where necessary
  • Ability to work in a Team and Individually.
  • Work under pressure

The selected candidate will also be responsible for completing work orders as required and any additional duties as requested. Experience, & other Certificates related with HVAC works will be considered an asset. The chosen candidate will be given the necessary training.
