Where can an AC be installed?
Residential AC units can be installed in a suitable position for correct function and maintenance. Both indoor and outdoor units should be placed within reach for easy access.
For detailed installation guidelines, please refer to the manual available on our website.
To ensure a full warranty, we recommend having the unit installed by a BT-approved installer.
How can I calculate the BTU?
Calculate the BTU capacity you need for your space using our BTU calculator.
Is copper piping included in the installation?
Yes, up to 4 metres of copper is included in the installation.
Why and how often should I clean the filters?
Regular filter cleaning is essential for maintaining the efficiency and indoor air quality of your GREE residential air conditioning. We recommend cleaning the filters every 3–4 weeks to ensure proper airflow and to keep your air conditioning free from dust, allergens, and germs. Depending on the type of filter you have, you may need filter replacements. Frequent filter cleaning can help prevent common issues and reduce the risk of serious breakdowns.
How often should I book a service?
For optimal performance, we recommend that air conditioners are fully serviced in low seasons once every year by a qualified technician.

Is there anything I should check before I call after-sales for a repair?
Before calling our after-sales team, we recommend that:
- Filters are clean
- Mode is set to desired mode (heating, cooling, dry)
- If you have an error just on your remote control, it means you need to replace the batteries
- Take note of any error codes that are displayed on the indoor unit and any strange noises before reporting them to our after-sales department.
- Take note of the model number of your AC because the after-sales team will ask you for it.
Indoor Unit Error Code Guide
When the air conditioner status is abnormal, the temperature indicator on the indoor unit will blink to display the corresponding error code.

Why does my AC emit a bad odour?
Possible causes of bad odour from Air conditioners:
Dirty evaporator coils, clogged condensate drain pans, and stagnant water can cause the smell of dirty socks. Usually, a professional cleaning will do the trick.
Setting your AC temperature equal to ambient temperature can also result in a very bad odour.
Why is my outdoor unit dripping water?
When using ac on heating it is normal that water condensate comes out of the outdoor unit.
What is the Copper Preparation Policy
As per our copper policy, payment for all works (raw materials) done on the copper preparation day must be made on the same day. When we perform installations on existing copper pipes, a deduction of €50 for the copper material cost will be applied to each AC unit. However, if copper cleaning is required on existing copper pipes, which also costs €50, the deduction will be adjusted to cover the copper cleaning charges.
